La Jolla, California – Children’s Pool
Pacific Paradise for Wildlife
La Jolla, California is a beautiful coastal town and should be on everyone’s SoCal bucket list! The downtown area of La Jolla was ideal for touristy walking, eating, and shopping. The wildlife viewing was spectacular and the pacific vistas were magnificent! Sadly, we didn’t have a lot of time to explore, but we did spend some time at the Children’s Pool.
What is the Children’s Pool?
I found the history of the Children’s Pool quite interesting. Protected by a seawall, this beach was originally created as a safe place for children to swim in the ocean. However, seals and sea lions claimed the stretch of sand for themselves! While I am sure it was sad for local parents to lose a great spot for children to play, the wildlife viewing in this area is amazing. Just look at those cute seals!
Tip:Bring a blanket and picnic to enjoy on the grassy area near the Children’s Pool.
Other than the description, I don’t have much to add in words. I think the pictures speak for themselves!
