Our Amazing Stay at the Marriott Laguna Cliffs Resort
We stayed at the Marriott Laguna Cliffs Resort, located in Dana Point, California. This beautiful hotel was situated on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. While the hotel is just walking minutes from the beach, it is hard to bring yourself from leaving the hotel’s amenities and views!
Not sure where Dana Point is in California? Well, thanks to MTV, you’ve probably heard of Laguna Beach, right? That’s where Dana Point is too – both are located just south of Los Angeles. With its sleepy charm and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, it is hard not to love this area. You visit this area to relax – not necessarily as a “home base” to visit all the nearby attractions.
The Hotel’s Overview
The pool wasn’t overly crowded (even for a Memorial Day weekend) and had an excellent splash park. The pool side service had great variety and were speedy. The best part of the pool was the vast view of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding fragrant flower gardens.
When we weren’t at the pool, we were down at the beach. Digging in the sand and splashing our feet in the water. I’ll admit, the water was too cold for me!! I loved people watching at the beach! It’s such a different and wonderful culture to experience. Everyone brining their grills and spending an entire day with extended family at the beach. Ah, if only my beloved Colorado mountains were closer to the ocean….
The hotel itself had tons of activities for the kids. For the nights we were there, they showed a movie in one of the conference rooms. They had popcorn and movie tickets… lots of people brought in their own snacks too. It was a great time and our kiddo LOVED it.
Lastly, this hotel has amazing rates! You are not going to find another hotel with the same amenities and views for the same value. If you are thinking of a relaxed, beachy resort along the California coast, then you must check out this hotel.
