Disney’s Caribbean Paradise – Castaway Cay

Castaway Cay is the beautiful private island exclusively for the Disney Cruise Line. It is part of the Bahamian island chain and is approximately 3 miles x 2 miles in size. The Caribbean waters are crystal clear and the sand is powder soft. And even though the island is relatively small, areas of it can make you feel a million miles away from everyone else. The history of Castaway Cay (aka Gorda Cay) is grittier than the wholesome version that Disney relays. It contains a history of pirate hideouts and treasure, as well as, a huge drug operation! Disney Cruise – Halloween on the High Seas

During the months of September and October, the Disney Cruise Line decorates its fleet with Halloween décor and their activities shift to have a Halloween flavor. We recently went on the Disney Dream's Halloween on the High Seas and had a really great time! Here is my review: Disney Dream Halloween Decorations The cruise ship is tastefully decorated with jack-o-lanterns and fall leaves throughout the lobby of the ship. Some of the decorations were so tasteful, that you really had to consider if it was a spider web or elaborate iron work! My favorite of the decorations was the Pumpkin

Denver Zoo

Early fall in Colorado is a perfect time to visit the Denver Zoo! The temperatures are ideal for spending hours just wandering around the zoo. Last week, my daughter had a day off from school and I also decided to take a day off from work for a mama/daughter date. We had a blast exploring the Denver Zoo! Denver Zoo History and Landscape The Denver Zoo actually has a fun history and was the first zoo in United States to display animals at eye level in their natural habitats without bars or fences. As such, the zoo has beautiful enclosures

Puppy Tales: Reality of Having a Puppy

Puppies are adorable. Their fur is so fluffy. Their ears are so soft. Some people even claim that they have good breath, I don’t agree, but I can understand the allure of getting a new puppy. Trust me, I do. Here is our puppy, Max, at 8 weeks old. He is an adorable golden retriever puppy. Cutest little ball of fur I have ever seen! Am I right? Mr. Max There are so many pros to getting a puppy, but I wanted to drop some reality on your guys as well. Basically, I want to tell you the worse things

Liebster Award

Thank you to Vera Vise  for nominating me for the Liebster Award. Amanda at Vera Vise was one of the first Disney blogging fanatics that I met during my first few weeks of travel blogging. I felt right at home on her Facebook community and loved reading all her Disney articles. My favorite article is Five Disney Hacks and I will certainly be using some of these “hacks” on my upcoming WDW vacation. So, on to the award! The Liebster Award is a virtual blogging award aimed at discovering and highlighting new bloggers. In my opinion, the Liebster Award is

Planning a Trip to Walt Disney World

I've always loved Disney! As a child, my family would frequently make the trek from Louisiana to Disney World. However, as a mother, my love for Disney grew leaps and bounds. Three years ago, after the hardest year of my life, we took our daughter to Disneyland on a complete whim. I remember the exact moment my broken heart started to mend. We were on Main Street U.S.A. and bubbles were floating all around us while our daughter (only 3 at the time), danced to the music. It was one of those moments that make you realize just how wonderful

Accelerated Reader (AR) Program

My daughter’s school participates in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program and I really like the program. It focuses on reading comprehension, which is very important! She is now in 1st grade, so we had some experience with it during kindergarten and I wanted to share it all with for my blog readers. For starters, it is unlikely that your school will provide answers to all the questions you have about this program. I love my school and my daughter’s teachers, but they just didn’t have information readily available, so I did my own research. Because I am nerdy like that.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Hotel Review

We stayed at the beach resort, Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos in the first part of July 2017. This hotel was beautiful, relaxing, and felt very safe. The hotel staff were eager to meet our needs and quickly addressed any issues with had during our stay. Detailed below are the things we loved most about the resort, but, I will start with this... we loved our stay with Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos and would recommend this resort, as well as, other resorts in the Hyatt Ziva family. Hyatt reputation with Mexican hospitality is a win-win. Large Comfortable Hotel Rooms The standard hotel

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cupcakes

My mom’s birthday was Saturday and to celebrate, I baked her Grandma Bessie’s strawberry cake… with a slight, dark chocolate, twist - turn the cake into strawberry cupcakes and then dip them into chocolate. USUALLY {okay, most of the time}, my experiments turn out very, very badly. Lets just say I’ve had to clean burnt cake out of my oven many times…. However, this experiment turned out deeeelicious! And, in my opinion, the chocolate was EXACTLY what this recipe was missing.  Here is my recipe for chocolate covered strawberry cupcakes. Step One: Make the strawberry cupcakes! Great-Grandma Bessie’s Strawberry Cake Recipe {The Original}
