Fairy Tale Tea Party

On this cold and snowy Colorado Sunday, we hosted a family Fairy Tale Tea Party and it couldn't have been cuter {or more fun}!  As everyone knows, the Travel + Family crew are huge Disney fans, so when the good people at Adagio Teas sent us the Fairy Tale tea collection to test out, we just knew we had to use these teas for a fun a tea party! Fairy Tale Tea Collection First of all, let's talk about these adorably themed fairy tale teas. I am a sucker for themes. I especially love cleverly themed items and I think

Dining at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom

Dining reservations for the parks at Walt Disney World open 180 days in advance of your visit. If you miss this window, you will be limited on options during the timeslots you want. To give you a point of reference, we made reservations for the Liberty Tree Tavern approximately 170 days in advance. This venue was the only restaurant available between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. The Liberty Tree Tavern is in the heart of Liberty Square within Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It boasts 18th century décor and fashion; and of course, it has amazingly friendly hosts and wait-staff. The

Castlewood Canyon State Park

Castlewood Canyon State Park is our favorite place to hike. This Colorado State Park is located approximately 35 miles South of Denver. My husband and I fell in love with this state park nearly 15 years ago and have hiked it over a dozen times. There are 15 different trails to explore at the canyon – most are very short, with the longest being just over 2 miles. We love the beautiful terrain of the canyon, hiking next to Cherry Creek, and the easy, well-marked trails that loop around. My inner-geek goddess also loves the geological and historic aspects of

Why I LOVE Google Photos

Not many apps are true life-changers for me, but Google Photos has been the exception. It's given me peace of mind, enhanced photos, and easy sharing capabilities. Let me dive into all the reasons why this tool is a must for families who love their photos! Photo Storage & Organization I'm a freak about backing up my pictures! A freak. I typically keep them in three different locations - my phone, my computer, and an external hard drive. But, I still would wake up in a cold sweat if I didn't perform my normal routine back-up. After whining about this

Indulge at Disney Dream’s Palo for Brunch

On the Disney Dream, you can book adult-only food experiences at Palo and/or Remy. Both of these dining venues come at an extra cost, but are fantastic escapes from the hustle and bustle of the cruise ship and will please all taste buds. If you are a true foodie or enjoy trying new plates, then this is the place for you! Below is our experience having brunch at Palo while on the Disney Cruise Line's Disney Dream. Booking the Palo Brunch I would recommend booking a brunch at Palo for a sea day. This Champagne brunch was an additional $30.00

Disney Cruise Dining Overview

The Disney Cruise dining has been designed to meet the needs of every passenger. The cruise has great food and lots of options to satisfy even the pickiest person in your group. They do an excellent job of understanding and accommodating all food allergies, as well as, going above and beyond to ensure you enjoy the meal. Main Dining Room Overview My review is specific to the dining on the Disney Dream. This cruise ship has three main dining rooms: The Royal Palace, Animator’s Palate, and the Enchanted Garden. During the cruise, you will rotate through each of the dining

Disney’s Caribbean Paradise – Castaway Cay

Castaway Cay is the beautiful private island exclusively for the Disney Cruise Line. It is part of the Bahamian island chain and is approximately 3 miles x 2 miles in size. The Caribbean waters are crystal clear and the sand is powder soft. And even though the island is relatively small, areas of it can make you feel a million miles away from everyone else. The history of Castaway Cay (aka Gorda Cay) is grittier than the wholesome version that Disney relays. It contains a history of pirate hideouts and treasure, as well as, a huge drug operation! Disney Cruise – Halloween on the High Seas

During the months of September and October, the Disney Cruise Line decorates its fleet with Halloween décor and their activities shift to have a Halloween flavor. We recently went on the Disney Dream's Halloween on the High Seas and had a really great time! Here is my review: Disney Dream Halloween Decorations The cruise ship is tastefully decorated with jack-o-lanterns and fall leaves throughout the lobby of the ship. Some of the decorations were so tasteful, that you really had to consider if it was a spider web or elaborate iron work! My favorite of the decorations was the Pumpkin

Denver Zoo

Early fall in Colorado is a perfect time to visit the Denver Zoo! The temperatures are ideal for spending hours just wandering around the zoo. Last week, my daughter had a day off from school and I also decided to take a day off from work for a mama/daughter date. We had a blast exploring the Denver Zoo! Denver Zoo History and Landscape The Denver Zoo actually has a fun history and was the first zoo in United States to display animals at eye level in their natural habitats without bars or fences. As such, the zoo has beautiful enclosures

Puppy Tales: Reality of Having a Puppy

Puppies are adorable. Their fur is so fluffy. Their ears are so soft. Some people even claim that they have good breath, I don’t agree, but I can understand the allure of getting a new puppy. Trust me, I do. Here is our puppy, Max, at 8 weeks old. He is an adorable golden retriever puppy. Cutest little ball of fur I have ever seen! Am I right? Mr. Max There are so many pros to getting a puppy, but I wanted to drop some reality on your guys as well. Basically, I want to tell you the worse things
